phew!

The last two weeks have flown by again: I was busy finishing up a paper for my summer job, then packing up everything to move back into Kingston. Since it's my last year, I was trying not to move too much stuff back, and it was really hard deciding what to bring and what to leave behind. Sadly, part of what was left behind was a giant 1lb ball of yarn that I was using to make the sleeves of the collared pullover. It's been a while since I've felt like knitting anything, especially since this summer has been so hot, and I was sad to only be able to knit half of both sleeves before I left. Hopefully next time I travel back to Toronto I'll have time to finish it, for real!
I did have room to pack the skein of gorgeous silk that I bought earlier in the year in New York. I was going to make the echo flower shawl with it, but I'm thinking I want to do a rectangular stole instead. Although I really really love the flower pattern, I don't wear triangular shawls very often, and I don't want the yarn to be wasted! So, I'm on the hunt for a nice rectangular shawl pattern. I've made Eunny's print-o-the-wave stole before and I wasn't too keen on picking up a zillion stitches along the edge, but who knows! Maybe I will design a new pattern in the next week, before school starts...
bye bye, echo flowers!
